"They can Call me what they want." she cried out. "I live in this skin, so why should I care what anyone thinks? I wake up to the outcome of my choices and gaze at my reflection in the mirror. Bothered by my choices, I wonder through their unhappiness do they wish to bestow on me. Let me live! Are their concerns with my life the reason they don’t reflect on their own" she chuckles as she slowly runs her fingers through her hair. Staring off out the window, drawing back the curtains occasionally. "Sometimes I ask myself, if I were a bird, where would I fly too? " she stands, opening the curtains as a ray of sunlight hits her golden skin. " Freedom” she sighs. Stretching her arms as she leans her head back, eyes closed . "Who says I can't live my life the way I choose. Boundless and free of society's norms, the ideals of the masses don't apply to me. Life's shackles come from the conformity and disbelief we're unable of making our own choices. " You could see water forming in the creases of her eyes. Leaning forward for her ashtray, slowly lifting her white papers, placing it ever so gently on her bottom lip . "Do you have a light?" she asked with a stoned face, staring as if she were reading my soul. I ruffled through my pocketbook feeling for a lighter . Gently putting the raw papers to her lips, she approached me in slow motion. Standing face to face , lifting my arm to light her up. We paused. She takes a drag as we locked eyes. I wanted to move but something about this woman held me in a trance. Anticipating a rush of awkwardness, it never came. Her floral rob smelled of lavender, she leaned closer. Inches away I could feel the soft air leaving her mouth lightly blowing on my lips. As our eyes remained locked, a moist palm slowly grazed the back of my neck. My knees buckled yet I remained seated. Lifting her papers, inhaling intensely as she closed her eyes, pulling my head into hers. Intuitively I opened my mouth and she released the smoke from hers into mine. Inhaling, closing my eyes simultaneously. Her angelic voice spoke gently "Do you owe anyone an explanation on how you're feeling? " she whispered in my ear gingerly. "Embrace what is natural, be free." Placing her hand over my chest, I could feel a shift in my energy. Disorientated, I leaned into her as she casually moved back. " Do you feel your heart leaving your chest, beating to the rhythm of the unknown. Turn off what has been taught and lean into what you're feeling."
